TDEE vs BMR — What's the Difference?
Practical tips for TDEE vs BMR — private tools at caloriesestimator.com.
BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) is calories burned at complete rest. TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) = BMR × activity multiplier (sedentary 1.2 → very active 1.9).
We use the Mifflin-St Jeor equation — widely used in nutrition apps. To lose weight, eat below TDEE; our deficit planner targets ~7,700 kcal per kg of fat as a rough weekly guide.
Medical note: consult a registered dietitian for personalized plans, especially if pregnant, underweight, or managing a condition.
